Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person

About Us

Helping the Differently Abled provides Cerebral Palsy Chairs, Posterior Walkers, Standing Frames, Specialised Wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment that are tailor-made according to the child’s needs. The relevant equipment needed is prescribed by their doctors and physiotherapists to improve their coordination, development, and a support to their day to day lives.

By now, we have attracted more than 100 sponsors across the globe especially from Australia and Sri Lanka to help more than 200 cerebral palsy children with financial difficulties.

How can you help us?

At present, we are known mainly through our Facebook page and by Word-of-Mouth. If you would
like to join us in this great cause, kindly send us an email or get in touch with us via our Facebook
page about how you would like to contribute.

We will then allocate a child to be sponsored by you and an invoice for the equipment will be
provided with the relevant bank details when the corresponding donation round approaches. As a
non-profitable charity organisation, we will also provide the details of the child including their name,
age, contact details, parent’s names, and a picture of the donation once it is completed to be
transparent with what we do.

If you would like to personally participate in the donation, it could be arranged on request as well.

What our sponsors have to say

Helping the Differently abled is one of the best charity organisations I have worked with so far. They have a very rigid process when working with the sponsors and distributing the funds among the well needed children which assists to maintain a great transparency. Sponsors get to communicate directly with the children who are in need, the manufacture and the sponsors could even have an open dialogue with the Hospital. Miss Nimali who is the facilitator is indeed a great asset to this organisation who serves with a kind heart and open arms to assist with any queries the sponsors may have. My favourite part the process is the distribution of pictures of the equipment and the children after the donation. It is indeed a great pleasure to see a smile on those lovely children’s face and this give me the utmost satisfaction of being a help to build someone else’s life! Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be a part of such a good cause and hope to work with this organisation for many more years to come!

It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. I have donated to this organisation on a couple of occasions. Special mention must be done about Nimali. Without her, I would not have known about this organisation and the fantastic work they all do. Helping the Differently Abled has been friendly, helpful, responsive, and transparent. They kept me promptly updated with how my donation was going and provided photos for me to witness the impact I was having on peoples lives, despite being so far away from them
